My name is Holly Trinnaman. My family recently moved here from
Gilbert Arizona. I have loved Moses Lake so far but am terribly disappointed to learn
that there are no opportunities for band or orchestra for the kids of Moses Lake.
I come from an extensive background of piano and violin learning and teaching and have
taught in both areas since high school. I was fortunate to have been able to
take both piano and violin lessons through my senior year of high school. I have been fortunate to have spent many years studying and teaching music and believe I have talents I can share and help others develop. I was
trained in the Suzuki method for both piano and violin but realize that method
does not fit every student. I am willing to work with students to find out how
they learn best and begin moving forward from there. I require 5 days out of 7 to be practiced
and signed off by a parent. Each practice session will have clear objectives
and will vary in length according to students’ abilities and goals. I believe
successful students are in a partnership with their parents, especially the younger ones! I plan on a winter
and spring recital where students will be assigned a performance piece to focus on and
display for friends and family members in my home studio.
FAQ
When are classes offered?
Monday through Friday 4-7
How much do you charge?
A once weekly 45 minute one-on-one lesson is priced at 20 dollars. I will make exceptions for little ones just beginning who can only absorb so much by offering a 30 minute lesson at 15 dollars.
How do you set your prices?
Research in Moses Lake has led me to set my prices competitively. I want to be affordable and ensure both your family and mine benefit from my knowlege and skills.
How do I pay?
I will accept cash or check.
When is payment due?
At the first lesson of each month.
What if I can't attend lessons with my child?
I view parent and child as each others support while learning music. If you can't attend I will be sure to inform you of your childs objectives for the week and offer suggestions on how to be the best support.
Do you teach during the summer?
I prefer not to however if both parent and child are motivated I will make exceptions. After all, if you are not progressing, you are regressing.
Can I cancel at anytime?
Yes!
Where do I get the learning materials?
I plan to use what resources I have to keep prices low however if there is additional material needed, I will recommend a website to order from.
I don't have a piano or violin?
Keyboards work great and are inexpensive, especially around November and December. Violins can be ordered online as well for a great price, and craigslist too. If you are unsure of what size violin I can make a recommendation.
Please contact me if you have any
interest in having your child learn piano, violin, or music theory. I am willing to do trial lessons as well.
Parents are encouraged to stay with child throughout the lesson; but it is not
required. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions.
